CTF Membership OPtions

Joining the Canadian Tenpin Federation (CTF) connects you to a national network of bowlers, leagues, and tournaments. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor, a young bowler developing skills, or an athlete with intellectual disabilities, there’s a membership tailored for you. CTF membership provides access to sanctioned leagues, official tournaments, awards programs, and exclusive opportunities like scholarships and recognition programs. With different membership options available, bowlers of all levels can enjoy the sport while ensuring fair play under CTF regulations. Annual dues vary based on membership type, with additional fees potentially applied by local and provincial associations. Memberships run from August 1 to July 31, with some exceptions for summer leagues. To participate, bowlers must register through their league, association, or directly with CTF. Explore the benefits of CTF membership and find the right fit for your bowling journey.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the different membership types:

Adult Membership

Eligibility: Individuals aged 22 and above as of August 1 of the current bowling season. Senior bowlers (aged 50 and over) fall under the Adult Membership category but are recognized as a separate membership group.

Dues: Annual national dues of $25. Provincial and local associations may charge additional fees, with provincial dues up to $3 and local dues up to $7.

Benefits: Entitles members to participate in CTF-sanctioned leagues and tournaments, access awards programs, and receive other member services. Senior members must be at least 50 years old to be eligible for senior-specific recognition and events.

Youth Membership

Eligibility: Individuals who have not reached their 22nd birthday prior to August 1 of the current bowling season.

Dues: Annual dues of $25. Provincial and local associations may charge additional fees for those bowling in a CTF youth league.

Benefits: Allows participation in youth leagues and tournaments, eligibility for scholarships, and access to youth-specific awards and programs.

Special Olympics Membership

Eligibility: Individuals with intellectual disabilities, both youth and adults.

Dues: Annual dues of $10. Associations may charge a service fee in addition to the membership for those bowling in a CTF youth league.

Benefits: Provides access to leagues and tournaments tailored for Special Olympics athletes, along with eligibility for related awards and programs.

Memberships are typically obtained through leagues, tournaments, chartered local associations, or by contacting CTF directly at ctf@tenpincanada.com. Annual dues should be paid before the completion of the bowler’s second series in league competition or prior to participating in a tournament. Memberships are valid from August 1 through July 31 of the following year. For summer leagues and tournaments, membership extends through October 1 of the subsequent season. However, youth members who turn 22 during the season are not granted the October 1 extension for tournament play; their membership expires on July 31 of the season in which they turn 22. If a youth member in a summer league turns 22 during the season and the league continues beyond July 31, they may complete the league as a youth bowler.
